Firetree’s Conewago Family of Treatment Programs has historically employed evidence-based treatment models addressing the chronic nature of the disease of addiction.

Our programs employ cognitive/behavioral-based treatment and motivational interviewing.  They are formatted as modified Therapeutic Communities.  Treatment is offered in conjunction with supportive life skills training, increased peer support, and targeted social skills training to enhance the individual’s positive social attitudes and values.

The overall goals of the program involve working with individuals for the purpose of increasing and maintaining an improved level of functioning and supportive recovery.

A strength-based Comprehensive Treatment Plan is created collaboratively between the client and counselor.

This plan provides a clear, personalized roadmap for treatment and recovery.

Community Participation

  • Daily Community Meetings, Goal Setting, Positive Affirmation, Daily Inventory, Peer Review and Work Therapy

Life Skills Clients complete a life skills assessment on admission to identify needs and attend daily groups using Firetree’s proprietary curriculum. A pre-discharge test measures progress and remaining needs that assist in designing aftercare plans to help ensure sustained recovery.

Clinical Groups Firetree offers different treatment groups to match each person's stage of recovery and needs:

  • Traditional Groups:  Clients talk openly about how addiction hurts them and others, building awareness, acceptance, and motivation to change. Members take responsibility for recovery.

  • Relapse Court: A structured group where people create and test relapse prevention plans reviewed by peers in order to give feedback and suggest improvements for better strength and accountability.

  • Small Process Groups: More personal groups for deeper discussion of issues and progress.

  • Co-Occurring Disorders Group: Focuses on how mental health and addiction connect and affect each other. e.

  • Gender Groups: Separate groups for men and women to discuss sensitive topics comfortably without opposite-gender distractions.

  • In-House 12-Step Meetings: Daily meetings including outside speakers plus community meetings twice a week.

  • Educational Groups: Include drug/alcohol education, 12-Step lecture
